Abstract

Poetry has always been at the heart of Arab culture, as it was a means of intellectual and civilizational acculturation, which the early Arabs used to record their beliefs, judgment, oral narratives, and philosophy. The Arabic language is rich with its treasured custom, traditions, and practice, which shows that it is a grand tongue. A’mru ibn Kolthoum is one of the weighty poets during the period of pre-Islam. Through understanding his Mua'llagah, Ibn Kolthoum is one of the fans of the classical Arabic language and Arabic poetry.

This study takes on to critically and analytically explain the insightfulness of some verses of the Mua'llagah of A’mru ibn Kolthoum. This piece of Arabic poetry is a case of the enormity and worth of the Arabic tongue, its stimulus, and its being stimulating. The paper uses the descriptive critical approach that commences with a concise introductory outline on the Arabic poetic language and its worth. After that, the study gives a glance at the poet knight A’mru ibn Kolthoum the engineer of Al-Mua'llagah. The essential point of the task follows with a descriptive analysis of the chosen lines of Al-Mua'llagah.
