Abstract

This research is entitled The Used of Deixis In “World Travel Magazine”. The aims of this research are to identify the types of deixis that used in “World Travel Magazine.” and its reference. The term Deixis comes from classical Greek for one of the most basic things we do with utterances. It means ‘pointing’ via language. The study in this research concerned with the way in which the researcher explains the kinds of deixis and the reference of each deixis which used in the article that published on World Travel Magazine using the theory of Pragmatics focusing on Deixis that purposed by Levinson 1983. Qualitative research was used as the method of the research. The method of collecting the data is documentation. The steps to analyze the data are reading the article, finding the deixis, and classifying the types of deixis.
